Our founder’s didn’t have a background in the industry when they launched The Glass Guru, but what they lacked in industry experience, they made up for with their marketing skills, professionalism and drive, matched with a grand vision for their new company. 11 years and 80+ locations later, we consider ourselves anything but typical in our industry.
As we’ve grown, we’ve built a team of professionals with a diverse array of skills. Our franchise support team is filled with industry experts who’s primary goal is to setup our franchise owners for success.
In 2002 our company founders Dan and Joy Frey of Granite Bay, CA learned of a new process being utilized in Canada to restore the visible and thermal qualities of failed dual-pane windows without replacing the glass. Recognizing the need and market potential for this process as a green and money-saving alternative to replacement, they formed The Glass Guru (originally Glass Wizard) in August 2004 becoming the first company in the US to offer foggy window repair.
As the sole provider of this new common-sense solution to such a widespread problem, the company experienced explosive growth and soon expanded into additional niche restoration services followed by more traditional repair and replacement services for glass, screens, mirrors, showers, windows and doors.
The Glass Guru began franchising in 2007, and today stands alone as the only brand in North America offering such a comprehensive bundle of cutting-edge restoration, traditional repairs and replacements and niche specialty services. Entrepreneurs across the US and Canada have taken notice and joined us in our mission to redefine what it means to be “Full Service”. Working together we’ve become the fastest growing company in the industry and we are just getting started.
In January 2016, the company moved into its current Headquarters in Roseville, CA., just a few miles from our original store, now co-owned and jointly operated by our Founder/CEO and two Vice Presidents. Being franchisees themselves keeps our senior management team finely in-tune with the needs of our franchise owners. They utilize their own ongoing experience as owners to continually guide them in the ongoing development of world-class support systems and tools to assist our owners and staff in the operations, marketing and management of the business.
