Franchise Business Review Interviews Leading Franchisee on Thriving with Recession-Proof Franchise

Franchise Business Review recently spoke with The Glass Guru franchisee Mitch Richey to gain insight on what it’s like to be a franchise owner and the challenges of running your own business. Mitch Richey owns the North Indianapolis, IN franchise, and has been the owner since 2010. Previously he worked in window sales and management as well as billboard advertising. FBR asked him a series of questions, on what skills he felt were critical to being successful, why he went into owning a franchise, and any advice he has for other owners or candidates looking to own a franchise.  Mitch stated that having employee development skills previously to opening his Glass Guru business helped him with hiring and training employees. When looking into having more freedom, flexible hours and only needing to answer to himself, he looked into franchising and went with The Glass Guru seeing how it was a recession-proof business and a great low-cost alternative for customers. With a business growing from 5% to 30% every year and a love for what he does, Mitch feels this is a great place to be in and thrive.  After seeing his friend’s success in Indy South, he jumped on the opportunity and in 6 months was ready to go. He also stated that his biggest challenge was taking the leap and then getting a storefront. Listening to corporate and following their recommendations was his biggest advice to future Glass Guru owners.

“We are so excited to have Mitch featured in Franchise Business Review for his hard work and dedication. He has done an outstanding job representing the brand in North Indianapolis and has also been an inspirational leader, demonstrating The Guru Way to our other franchise owners.” -Dan Frey

At The Glass Guru, we are thrilled at Mitch’s success and how much he continues to grow. We cannot wait to see what the rest of 2022 brings to the North Indianapolis location.  Excerpts from the interview with Richey are featured in FBR’s 2022 Top 200 Franchises issue. If hearing Mitch’s story sounds like something you want to look into, consider starting your own franchise with The Glass Guru.
