The Glass Guru Announces New Ownership for Colorado Location

North American home service franchise The Glass Guru recently announced the transfer of one of the brands leading locations in Colorado. Franchise owners Chris and Erica Schwartz sold their West Denver location to the owner of the brand’s Colorado Springs franchise.  Chris Schwartz had come from a glazing dynasty back in Wisconsin, where he was part of a multi-generational glass company. Throughout his career, he had developed solid skills within the fenestration industry and was looking for more of a challenge. The Glass Guru presented Chris and Erica with an opportunity to leverage his industry experience to build something of his own.  Working with the key members of the Franchise Development Team, the franchisor supported the Schwartzs in all areas, but with a specific focus on business operations, marketing, and finance. Chris enjoyed focussing his immense industry talents on tech and customer service, building great relationships with his team and his local and regional suppliers alike. Erica helped by handling the front office and the books.  Chris and Erica ultimately built up momentum and a sustained revenue stream even through the pandemic and recent economic uncertainty, posting 17 consecutive months of $100,000+ monthly revenue prior to the sale. This put them in the best position to have a number of profitable exit strategies they could consider, as needed. The Schwartz family has since moved their life back to Wisconsin to be nearer to family.  The leadership team at The Glass Guru is pleased to see James Child take the helm as the new franchise owner of this successful location. James initially came to The Glass Guru with a background in general construction. When he looked at The Glass Guru’s franchise opportunity he thought it would be a “great business adventure”. James acquired the established The Glass Guru of Colorado Springs back in 2020 and quickly took it to record highs.  When applying the same critical eye to the Denver West location, he knew he could build upon the great foundation Chris and Erica Schwartz had already built. James’s construction background along with great influence from his business-minded father set him up for success with the model.

“This transfer is one that I am extremely proud of for a lot of reasons, but mainly because two very good franchisees are seeing that nothing is forever in business and that opportunities are meant to be seized. It was a pleasure to get to know and work with both Chris and Erica Schwartz, they put a lot of time and energy into building a great franchise business these past nine years, and I wish them nothing but success in their future endeavors. I’m equally happy for James Child and continue to be impressed by his drive, determination, and steadiness as a franchisee. It’s a breath of fresh air working with James and I’m truly excited for him and his team. They are going to crush it!”   Rob Lopez | Vice President of Franchise Business Development The Glass Guru

The brand’s leadership team is excited to continue to watch James Child’s success with both of his Colorado locations, while at the same time, wishing Chris and Erica a fond farewell and best wishes in their next chapter.
